You must have a minimum of 3 sources listed in correct MLA format on your Works Cited page: one primary source (story or poem) and a minimum of two secondary sources. Your secondary sources must be located through GSU library resources; they must be scholarly sources from peer reviewed journals or casebooks of critical essays. Use JSTOR, ProQuest, Academic Search Complete, and many other GSU library databases to locate articles. Search for “full text”.
Every single paraphrase or quotation from a source must be properly introduced (According to Smith….Smith illustrates…As Smith describes, etc.) and cited (in MLA format), or you risk plagiarizing. It must be crystal clear where your prose ends and information from someone else begins. Always provide an attribute tag and citation. Always smoothly blend research into your prose. Eliminate all dropped-in quotations.
