Instructions

For this assignment, incorporating instructor feedback, finalize your questionnaire from the first assignment. Then, interview a director of special education in a school or school system utilizing your questionnaire. You may do this face-to-face or electronically (for example, via telephone, Skype, email, IM, etc.) Be sure to explore use of formal and informal assessments and how school and school district personnel are prepared to implement them.

Next, write a brief report on the interview experience, including the following in your paper:

  • Background information on the person interviewed (job title, professional preparation, years’ experience) and descriptive/demographic information on the school or district in which the person serves as a special education director. Use pseudonyms to replace names of personnel and schools or districts.
  • The results of the interview (by question, minimum of 10 questions), and
  • A reflective summary of what you have learned about the tasks, responsibilities, and challenges of working as a special education director.

Length: 3-5 pages not including title and reference pages
References: Minimum of 3 scholarly resources.

Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts that are presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your paper should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards. Be sure to adhere to Northcentral University’s Academic Integrity Policy.
