Please read the section in Chapter 7 on “Brand Associations” with teams. Identified in the reading are several items where brand associations are strong for teams. For each of the situations listed below, provide an explanation/rationale of examples in sports where you feel the associations are strong based on your knowledge and accompanying research of the sports landscape by answering the following:
1) Explain a logo, nickname, or mascot
2) Discuss an owner or ownership group
3) Identify a rivalry
4) Point out a venue – stadium or arena
Please bear in mind that in a sports marketing class, there should be some business acumen to your assignment. Support with strong rationale, examples, and statistics when appropriate.
