Textbook History. You will be assigned a time period from American history. Go to the circulation desk of FIT’s Gladys Marcus Library and check out four books from the reserve shelf: Paul Johnson, A History of the American People, Howard Zinn, A People’s History of the United States, and two others of your choice. (You can see the full list by searching the library catalogue by our course number.) Pick five events from the time period you are reading about that you think all educated people should know. For one of those events, write a page on how the four textbooks differ in their explanation and interpretation of the event. For another, pick and copy out four or five interesting or important sentences about the event (the sentences can come from one, some, or all of the textbooks; include citations for the quotes—textbook author’s name, or the name of the first author if there are many, and the page numbers). Think of a good conceptual question to ask the class about the sentences you have picked—a question that may elicit several opposing viewpoints. Also think of a question to ask me. By the third week of the semester, upload your assignment to the Blackboard dropbox for “Textbook History,” including the five events, the one-page discussion of one of the events, and the quotes and discussion question for the class about another event. DO NOT INCLUDE THE QUESTION FOR ME IN YOUR ASSIGNEMENT. When I have okayed your quotes and question, post them again on our Blackboard website, in the dropbox for “Textbook Readings”. Again, do not post the question you have for me—I want to be surprised. In class on a designated week, you will read your selected sentences and questions aloud, and we will discuss them.
Paper Comments My Era is Early Cold War (1945-1960). I will upload scans of books that includes information about that era. If writer can find those books that I stated in PAPER DETAILS section as a pdf use them as source but I will upload materials just incase.

I will also upload project sample so that you can use it as a guide.
