Alcohol is an organic compound derivative of water in which an alkyl group has replaced one of the hydrogen atoms that exist in water. The properties of alcohol include the following:
1. Alcohols are soluble in water
2. Alcohols are flammable
3. Alcohols burn to produce water and carbon dioxide
4. Alcohols have higher boiling points than their parent molecules
5. Alcohols form esters by reacting with carboxylic acid.
Another name for types of alcohol that my client wishes to avoid is ethanol. Wine is an example of an alcohol in the diet that might be good for you.
