A few years ago, the marketing world unleashed the “Got Milk” campaign. The process was a struggle to make milk drinking appealing to consumers. Basically, there were many other products available that were more appealing, such as bottled waters and sodas. The challenge was to make an old, less exciting product exciting.

Now it is your turn to accept this challenge. I would like for you to present a “marketing campaign” in which you persuade us to buy something that is old or outdated instead of the latest, most exciting product. For example, you may persuade us to buy a record player instead of an IPOD (or CDs instead of downloading singles); a VCR instead of a DVD player; an old, upright TV instead of a plasma; board games instead of video games; books instead of movies, etc.

You will create a commercial that persuades us to buy your product. You may tape a commercial and play it for us, or you may present a “live” commercial (think infomercial). You will submit your commercial and/or presentation notes here.
